We have been having kind of a rainy summer again this year but it did not seem to matter much to Abby Timms and Ryan Conner who were married last month at the Roche Harbor Resort on San Juan Island. Of course it rained most of the day but we had plenty of beautiful umbrellas provided by the wonderful people at Roche Harbor Resort.
The ceremony had to be moved from the garden in front of the Haro Hotel to the little chapel but that worked out well. We got a break in the showers for a wedding panorama. At one point during the reception we even went for a walk in the rain on the dock and made some more pictures under umbrellas. It was a special moment when a yacht salesman invited us aboard a 92′ yacht. He had just sold in 2 days for $9.6 million. He was so happy he invited us to come and take some pictures aboard. I love the picture of them in the bow of the yacht. You can see the rain and how wet they are but are still enjoying the moment. It was a glorious Pacific Northwest wedding day indeed.
Here are some of my favorite highlights of the day in pictures. Below is a slideshow of a whole bunch more. Special thanks for assistance to associate photographer Monica Frisell and to Jillian Heinz-Crouch, the event coordinator at Roche Harbor.
