MOLLY, HARPER AND ALICE
I made a portrait of Mo;y and Alice when Molly when she was 9 months pregnant on a Sunday and then the next Tuesday the Harper came arrived into the world. Now that she just turned 2. I got to photograph them all again. Harper loves playing “Where’s the baby” with me. What a sweet child.
Little Shop Of Horrors Plant
Last week Salmon Bay School put on their annual musical play. The part of the plant. Audrey 2, in the Little Shop of Horrors was played by Claire. This was her second adventure in theatre. Last year she played the part of the dog Toto in Wizzard of Oz. She was directed by Glyde King and her costume was made by Cameron Mason

Mother and Daughter
It has been a while since I also made a portrait of Ema and Jana, so while we were out on the cruise on Lake Union last weekend, I made this one of the two of them. Ema is now at 13, taller than her mom.

Portrait of Ema
It has been a while since I made a portrait of Ema and she looks quite different from the last time. We were out on a boat in Lake Union and I made some like the one below, of Ema with her sister Claire and friend Yasmina visiting from Europe. Then Ema went down below to the cabin and I shot this one of her in the shade.
They grow up so fast. I should be shooting them more often.

Teenagers
Here is another shot of Ema and her friends hanging out at the beach at Carkeek Park celebrating her 13th birthday. It was a really fun afternoon and evening with hot dogs chilli and marshmallows and stuff around a bon fire.
Girls On The Beach
Down on the Oregon Coast in the town of Seaside is where my girls like to go for a break away from it all. At low tide the beach is huge and they love the sand and waves.
I love going with just a Leica and some black and white film and shooting like it was years ago. Nothing like else like it.

Tim Narby and family in the winery of Nota Bene Cellars, Seattle.
It is the time of year when I get asked a lot to come and make family portraits for business and personal use. Here is Tim Narby’s family photo for the winery to send out to friends and clients. Tim makes some really great wine in the bordeaux style, blending the traditional varieties into a new world version of a classic bordeaux. Tim is the owner and winemaker at Nota Bene Cellars making some of the finest wine to come out of the best vineyards of Eastern Washington.
Just a note about this picture. I usually do not go into technical talk but I have been working with an old Hassleblad and black and white film and I really like the look of film. It has been a while since I worked with a film camera every day and I am getting the hang of it again. Last time I worked with the Hasselblad was more than 15 years ago. I gave them up and moved on to a Mamiya RZ 67 when I became tired of the square format. Lately I have been missing it so I got myself a new old camera, the lens was made in 1975 and the body in 1980. The lens is a beautiful 110 f/2 Planar. and it looks tack sharp even after all these years. I will be using it for as many kinds of assignments as I see fit from now on. Walter at Three Months
A Bella Baby Picture – Walter @ 3 Months -
Although I am not a full time professional baby photographer, I had to make a portrait of Walter, the first born child of good friends Laurie and Jason Dix whose wedding I photographed a couple of years ago. As a professional photographer in addition to corporate and editorial assignment I also do a fair amount of portrait photography and nothing is more fulfilling than a portrait photography session with a baby.
What a fun and interesting portrait session with baby Walter. He has a great personality which was so apparent but surprising at such an early age. Laurie, your son was such a fun subject to photograph and what could be more cool than be born with a mohawk haircut. I also really enjoyed the new baby smell of a 3 month old. I had almost forgotten.
Girls on the Seneca
Claire and Ema were out enjoying a sunset cruise on Michael Craft’s beautifully restored 38′ long 1958 Chris Craft “Seneca”.
Seems we do get some beautiful evenings every now and then here in Seattle and out on Lake washington and Lake Union is a fine place to cruise and enjoy the light and sights..
Three roses among the tulips
We all went up to the Skagit valley again to see how the tulips are doing this year. It was still a little early to see them in full bloom. There were many begining tp open up but they will most likely be looking better towards the end of the week if this warm weather holds up. It is expected to go to a high of 73F today.

Family Photographs Another Birthday
So next up in the birthday department was Claire who turned 7 this past weekdend. Above she is blowing out her candles. She had 9 friends over for a birthday/slimber party. It was a gas.
Another wonderful milestone evening in the life of our family.

Ema turns 12
Ema had no problem blowing out all of the candles on her birthday cake on her 12th birthday on thursday evening. Her Aunt Zuzanna was in town visiting from London as was our friend Fulvio; Eleni and sister Claire were there to offer assistance as was her mom in background.
It was a wonderful evening in the life of our family.
Art Sale
Claire was at it again. She really wants a really really cute white mouse for a pet. But she has no money. She decided she needed to go to work. First she sat down and made some drawings and then a sign. Then she went out in front of the house and set up her tables and stood there in the cold light of evening and over the course of an hour made 4 sales.
She was very happy. She sold out her first portfolio of original drawings. Amount earned $4.00
Now that she has the price for a new white mouse which she wants to call Sophie, she needs to earn enough to cover a cage and food and other stuff that you need to keep a pet mouse.

Tim Narby and Family = Note Bene Winery
Every year I for the past 4-5 years I have been asked to photograph Tim’s family photo which he then has Panda Lab print on a Christmas card. The cards are sent out to not just his friends and family but to subscribers and people signed up on the mailing list of his winery Note Bene. He makes really great bordeaux style wine from Washington state grapes and I look forward to getting this assignment from him every December. Right after the shoot he has an open house and I get to taste all of the 7-8 varieties he makes. What a treat.
Clark Family Photograph
Danielle and Greg Clark are another couple whose wedding I photographed a few years ago and have asked me to photograph the sudden expansion of their family for a photograph they can send out to friends and family for the holidays. Anders is the new addition to their family and what a wonderful boy to photograph. He was a joy.
