Spring Makes an Appearance Finally
April 9th, 2012
So this weekend spring finally seemed to arrive after a very wet winter. Discovery Park was grand fun for family and dogs.
Chilly Morning
January 27th, 2012
I took out our border collies, Charlie and Luna for a run and ball toss and it was cold. Temperature was 32F and there was frost everywhere. Almost fell down after slipping on some black ice in the parking lot.
Portrait of George & Dianne Carofino
December 20th, 2011
Another recent assignment this time to photograph George Carofino and his wife Dianne. We were fortunate to have a beautiful sunny day so we headed out to the beach at Carkeek Park. It turned out to be very clear so we got the Olympic Mountains to show up behind them. Also made a few images of their son Brad and his family on the beach
Portrait of an Indian Wedding Couple
October 9th, 2011

I had the honor of making a portrait of a couple, Namita and Gauhar on their wedding day at the Golf Club at Newcastle over the weekend.
The golf club sits on a high point overlooking Lake Washington and the City of Seattle and the distant Olympic Mountains.
Their beautiful wedding garments enhanced the exotic of the portrait in the context of the setting. Especially the long wheat grass surrounding them.
Executive Portrait of Dean Bennion | Seattle Corporate Photographers
February 24th, 2011

Recently I have been shooting a lot of corporate executive portraits and it is always a challenge to try and get something different that works for the corporation but is satisfying as a creative portrait. When I had to photograph Dean Bennion a VP at Wells Fargo Bank in Seattle, The weather was dark and rainy kind of a typical winter day around here. But I really liked how the sky and water looked from high up over downtown Seattle in the Wells Fargo office Dean works in.

Cover Photograph OF NEA Today
January 14th, 2011

I was happy to see how the NEA used one of my photos for the cover of their current magazine.
It was an interesting editorial photo shoot at the Wellpinit Middle School out in Eastern Washington on the Spokane Indian Reservation. Along with the usual still photos, I undertook the challenge to do some HD video storytelling as well on the second day of the assignment. It was about a struggling reservation school taking on the challenge of school transformation, determined to give students wings. They have some very fine editors at the NEA and it was a pleasure working with them/ Hope to do it again in the future. I also hope to get the chance to do some more story telling HD video this year as well.

Portrait of Bill Frisell and Petra Hayden
July 6th, 2010

I photographed Bill Frisell and Petra Hayden for an album they recorded together a few years back and tried using my tilt shift lens for a different look. This was the frame I really like best. The music they made together was a wonderful album I still listen to from time to time to hear Petra who has a smooth silky voice on top of Bill’s dreamy guitar licks.

Group Portrait on The Beach
March 29th, 2010

Friday evening was my daughter Ema’s 13th Birthday and she had some of her friends get together to celebrate with us at Carkeek Park. The weather which was threatening on Thursday and Friday morning, cleared up and it turned out to be beautiful evening. I got them all together for a group picture down on the beach with the Sound and Olympics behind them in the distance sometime after sunset.
Portrait Photography of Large Groups
January 18th, 2010
I am often called upon to make large group portraits an it is always a challenge to make them look great with everybody in the picture looking good with their eyes open and a good expression. It is a challenge just arranging every body and then getting their attention. Since I try to do one everytime I shoot a wedding, I have developed a skill at large group portraits. I usually have a lot of fun and the people do too. And then everyone gets a great picture with all of their co workers or friends or family. This was a san Francisco Wedding at a restaurant and we moved some tables and chairs and got everyone in the photo.
